Frequently Asked Questions
How long are the day walks?
The exact length of the walks will be dependent on the weather conditions and the needs of the group. As a general estimate the walk on the Saturday will be between 8-12km and on the Sunday between 6-8km.

How do I know if I am fit enough?
2
You don’t need to be super fit but you will need to be comfortable walking on uneven terrain for much of the day whilst carrying your day rucksack. The walks will be taken at a gentle pace and we will stop whenever needed for breaks or to take in the scenery around us. If you are worried about your fitness then I am more than happy to chat more with you about this - please just get in touch.
Do you cater for intolerances/allergies?
3
Yes - please let me know any dietary requirements and they will be catered for. All the food provided will be vegetarian.
Is there parking at the accommodation?
4
Yes, there is plenty of space to park.
I have a medical condition - do I need to check if I can take part?
5
You should consult a doctor if you have any medical conditions which you think might impact on you. You will also need to let me know about any relevant medical conditions.
What if I need to use the toilet whilst we are out walking?
6
There are no public toilets on any of the routes. If you need a pee then you can find somewhere to hide and do a ‘wild wee’. If you need to use tissues please bring a plastic bag to carry them away with you and dispose of later. I will carry a small shovel in case anyone desperately needs a number 2 (to dig a poop pit). It’s all part of the experience!
What if the weather is bad?
The routes will be planned according to the weather forecast and to ensure the group are safe. If the weather conditions are particularly bad on the Saturday then we will do a short morning walk and return for lunch at the house, and an optional afternoon walk will be available. On the Sunday a shorter walk will be organised if necessary.

Do I need my own transport?
It is not possible to get to the accommodation by public transport. If you do not have your own car then it is possible to get a taxi from Exeter St David’s train station. This will need to be pre-booked. You will also need to arrange transport back from Dartmeet Wilder Sauna at the end of the retreat. It may be possible to organise lift shares, but this cannot be guaranteed.
