🌿 Wilderness Therapeutic Journey

£60.00

Sunday 20th September 2026

9:30am - 5pm

A day of walking, reflection and connection on Dartmoor. Led by a qualified Mountain Leader (Rosie), and a therapist (James), this day brings together the restorative qualities of nature, movement, attentive listening and human connection.

We'll spend the day exploring some of Dartmoor's ancient stone rows and circles, moving at a gentle pace through the landscape and taking time to pause along the way. We will travel as a group, allowing space for both conversation and quiet reflection as the day unfolds.

At various points during the walk, we will pause and gather to offer a sharing circle. During each pause, one participant will have the opportunity to share for up to thirty minutes about whatever feels important or present for them in that moment. There is no pressure to speak if you would prefer not to. After each sharing circle, we will continue walking together before stopping again to offer another participant the same opportunity.

During these circles, participants are invited to listen without offering advice, interpretation or response. The focus is on creating a space where each person can be heard fully and accepted as they are. James may gently offer support to the speaker where appropriate.

The group size will be limited to six participants.

The route will cover approximately 10km across uneven Dartmoor terrain. The walk is not particularly challenging and will be taken at a relaxed pace, with regular opportunities to rest, reflect and take in the surroundings. However, participants should be comfortable walking this distance and navigating rough ground for much of the day.

Whether you're feeling stuck, navigating change, seeking connection, or simply wanting to spend a meaningful day outdoors, you are warmly welcome.

Note: This event is therapeutic rather than an opportunity receive clinical psychotherapy. Given the short duration of the event, it is not suitable for working through deep trauma or acute mental illness. Please feel free to be in touch if you are unsure whether this day is suitable for you.
